Inspired by the glowsticks, fluorescent tubes and similar elements related to identity of RAVE culture, designers Simon M. Pipercic and Vedran Kolac have designed installation MOE III. The highlight is on extruded PVC profiles connected in a dynamic structure merged with animation in a real-time generated video and graphics.

The Ready Made Curtain is original and simple hanging system to suit every window designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Danish Kvadrat. It requires the participation of the owner in its making provided by DIY „curtain“ kit – a hanging cord, wall fixings, pegs, and a selection of Kvadrat textiles.

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have been named the A&W Designer of the Year 2013! While designing they avoid known typologies, and imbue a contemporary, personal spirit to old forms, often with a dose of humour and playfulness. Their sensual design modestly approaches the hearts of the users, made to enrich the primary living space of an individual.

The exhibition „UK/Croatia Extra/ordinary Design Workshops“ has opened the six-month long Welcome Croatia Festival in London, an event which celebrates Croatia’s accession to the European Union this year. The exhibition runs until 27 January at British Council Gallery, 10 Spring Gardens, London SW1A.

During the darkest time of the year, the city event Lux Helsinki reveals a new side to some of the most famous buildings in the city centre and urban spaces that are undergoing transformation. The light is loose from the 4th to the 8th January by 13 light installations that cast a new angle on familiar landmarks of Helsinki.

The new contemporary development at the location of the former Beko textile factory, designed by Zaha Hadid, will mark the continuance of Belgrade’s signature “Modernist” movement, which was abruptly discontinued in the 1980s. This new multifunctional complex near Kalemegdan will awaken Belgrade’s spirit of modernism – the iconic style of the Serbian capital in the thirties, fifties and seventies.
