Affection for rugs – Lisbet Friis for Fabula Living

Lisbet Friis is among the best in Denmark when it comes to colours, colour schemes and weaving techniques. In the collection for Labula Living she has merged the old, craft traditions of the Oriental carpet with the Nordic rag rug - showcased for the first time last week during Stockholm Design Week.

Lisbet Friis has spent several weeks in small, authentic rug stores in Turkey – observing and collecting impressions to find the way to adapt them for a contemporary home.

The rugs are hand woven in high quality natural materials; wool, mercerized cotton and linen. The collection comprises the series: Thuja, Amaryllis, Hortensia, Rosemary, Funkia, Windflower, Magnolia and Dahlia.

Lisbet Friis has won several prizes for her artistic work, and her work has been exhibited worldwide.

Fabula Living designs and produces rugs with a distingtive scandinavian expression. The assortment range from kilims in cotton, linen, leather and wool to heavy shaggys.
